The summer schools in Information Retrieval have been very successful in [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Summer_School_in_Information_Retrieval|Europe]] where research students, young faculty members, or industrial researchers can get a great opportunity to learn the [[Lectures|core and advanced topics]] from the [[Lecturers|world-class experts]] in the field. However, no such opportunity was available in most Asian countries. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that the 1st Asian Summer School in Information Access will be held in 2013 at Tsukuba, Japan.
