概要

This project brought together a team from industry and two universities to develop a cultural management tool for an Indigenous community in the far north of Australia. It was supported by a grant from the Australian Research Council. The project involved an industry partner building a digital repository and content rendering system, developing a suitable Qualified Dublin Core metadata application profile, and investigating how using RDF would contribute to the community's development. In the event, we learn a lot about working with indigenous people, and the nature of 'culture', a lot about commercial development of software, quite a lot about using Dublin Core metadata for cultural artifacts and a bit about the Semantic Web. In this talk, I will share some of our experiences.
