概要

The talk consists of 3 parts.

Part 1 introduces Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). It provides information about AIT's characteristics, academic programs, some facts and figures.

Part 2 describes an attempt to develop an open-source hybrid library system, HyLib, which　combines an integrated library management system, Koha, a digital library system, DSpace, and a resource discovery system, VuFind. HyLib aims to serve university and school libraries as well as community learning centers.

The last part of the talk outlines research on the development of a definition language for application profiles. The language is an extension of OWL and enables the specification of constraints and complex relationships among metadata elements.
