Abstract In this presentation, there will be a comprehensive introduction of history and intellectual property legislation system in China, patent law, trademark law and especially copyright law, etc.. The presentation will focus on development of copyright system in China and its principles, works protected, authorship, duration, limitations and so on. Moreover, the lecturer will discuss the relationship between copyright and libraries and copyright issues aroused in modern libraries in China.
Participation The seminar will be presented in English. No charge to participate and no reservation is needed.

Wei Jingzhu, Ph.D, associate professor & assistant dean of School of Information Management (SIM), Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, P.R. China. She is the director of Big Data Research Center of SIM and research fellow of Intellectual Property Advanced Research Center of Wuhan University. She serves as the executive member of the council and secretary of the Chinese Social Science Information Association, vice secretary of Guangdong Social Science Information Association, consultant expert of Conghua city of Guangdong Province, and review expert of several academic journals of LIS, such as Library and Information Service, Library Forum, etc.. She has in charge of more than 10 research fund projects and has been awarded first prize of Guangdong Social Science Research Achievement at the year of 2015.
